A Christian minister said Tuesday that he will go ahead with plans to burn copies of the Quran to protest the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks despite warnings from the top U.S. general in Afghanistan and the White House that doing so would endanger U.S. troops.

Gen. David Petraeus warned Tuesday in an e-mail to The Associated Press that “images of the burning of a Quran would undoubtedly be used by extremists in Afghanistan — and around the world — to inflame public opinion and incite violence.”

State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley echoed that later in the day, calling the plan to burn copies of the Quran “un-American” and saying it does not represent the views of most people in the U.S.

“While it may well be within someone’s rights to take this action, we hope cooler heads will prevail,” Crowley said. He said burning copies of the Quran would be “inconsistent with the values of religious tolerance and religious freedom,” and potentially puts the lives of U.S. soldiers and diplomats at risk.

The fire department has denied Jones a required burn permit for Saturday, but he has vowed to go ahead with his event.

Muslims consider the Quran to be the word of God and insist it be treated with the utmost respect, along with any printed material containing its verses or the name of Allah or the Prophet Muhammad. Any intentional damage or show of disrespect to the Quran is deeply offensive.

In this progressive north Florida town of 125,000 anchored by the sprawling University of Florida campus, the lanky preacher with the bushy white mustache is mostly seen as a fringe character who doesn’t deserve the attention he’s getting.

Still, at least two dozen Christian churches, Jewish temples and Muslim organizations in Gainesville have mobilized to plan inclusive events — some will read from the Quran at their own weekend services — to counter what Jones is doing. A student group is organizing a protest across the street from the church Saturday.

The Vatican newspaper on Tuesday published an article in which Catholic bishops, including Archbishop Lawrence John Saldanha of Lahore, Pakistan, criticized Jones’ plan.

“No one burns the Quran,” read the headline in Tuesday’s L’Osservatore Romano.

Jones, who has about 50 followers, gained some local notoriety last year when he posted signs in front of his small church proclaiming “Islam is of the Devil.”

The Quran, according to Jones, is “evil” because it espouses something other than the Christian biblical truth and incites radical, violent behavior among Muslims.

“It’s hard for people to believe, but we actually feel this is a message that we have been called to bring forth,” he said last week. “And because of that, we do not feel like we can back down.”

“Whenever there’s a perception that America is somehow anti-Muslim, that harms our image and interests around the Islamic world,” said Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American Islamic Relations, a Washington-based Muslim civil rights group that has worked to discredit Jones and counter his message.

Can someone revise my English paper?

We do peer editing in class but the person who corrected my paper made absolutely NO changes, which actually frustrates me because I know my paper is not perfect. I need input and new ideas. My essay is about how a one self sufficient unit is a community. I chose the Catholic Church. Please & Thank you.

Inside the Catholic Church functions a small community constituted by people of different backgrounds who share the same belief. To many, it is a sacred place where masses and religious events are celebrated. Individuals who create this community follow and serve only one person, and that person is God.

The community of the church comprises of the priests, communion ministers, reading ministers, altar servers, the choir, and the parishioners. These titles can be seen as small jobs that people can do for the church. At the top of the ladder are the priests, who primarily perform the ceremony of the mass. The altar servers aid the priest by giving him necessary items at specific times while the communion ministers help distribute the “bread” to the parishioners. Reading ministers read passages from the bible known as the first and second reading. The priest himself reads the gospel and then delivers a homily. During the homily the priest describes the meaning of the passage to the audience. When one embodies a position certain guidelines are to be met.

Education and guidance also take place in the church. Various organizations are formed to assist parishioners with specific problems. Some examples include the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine classes better known as CCD classes and the Couples for Christ groups. CCD is the basic teachings of the Catholic Church. These classes are taught to young students to learn the basic roots of their faith before being confirmed as part of the church. Couples for Christ is designated for married couples who have a family. This program teaches parents how to develop a strong Christian family and how to instill religious values in their children. These organizations show that the church is a very open community.

Fundraisers and events are hosted by volunteers who wish to spread the catholic view. Through this not only are they attracting newcomers but are also raising money for good causes. Most of the funds collected in church pay for the facilities while the money accumulated from fundraisers are used for good causes such as helping sick priests, celebrating a priest’s anniversary, and most importantly saving up for the World Youth Day held at diverse locations each year for Catholics all over the world to gather together.

It is not the buildings, the pews, the statues, not even the offerings or the preaching that establish the church. What makes up the church are the parishioners who keep the faith and spirit alive. They are a strong force that serve God and spread his beliefs to others. Without them there would be no church in the first place. The Catholic Church is an open-minded community where individuals can freely choose what they want to do. However people undermine what it means to be a catholic and often stray away from the church. Fortunately the church does not discriminate or judge and will whole heartedly accept a person into the community once again.

I attended a Festival in Mt. Union, PA in 1985 called “Jesus ’85”. There was a speaker there with a brittish or Irish accent (I think), that gave a great testimony to the life of Mary. One thing he repeated a few times was if at this point if you asked Mary was it worth it she would of said “yes it was worth it”. There were also some comical comments he made. I think his first name was Eric, but I am not 100% sure on that. Please help if you can. Thanks.

Prayer is essential to a healthy Christian lifestyle.  Indeed, joyful survival is dependant upon daily Christian prayer.  That we may freely speak with our Father is our faith and our promise.  We commune with Jesus Christ.  We groan in the Spirit.  Sometimes when the hour is early and the stars still bright, we kneel in great need, our hearts trembling.  With earnest expectation, we cry out that God provide our needs, enlighten our understanding, shore up our defenses, and overcome Satan’s efforts to take advantage of our fleshly fears.  With assurance and confidence we pray for friends, family, and the lost and dying world around us, knowing that God in heaven will never reject the pleas of a humble and contrite heart.

But some may not fully understand this power that resides in prayer.  How many accumulate speak-words rather than a shared conversation with Jesus?  How many amass minutes rather that arrive at fellowship?  If your prayer life feels void and empty, consider the following scriptures.  They may help you unleash confident Christian prayer.

In The Garden: Prayer Unleashed and Prayer Restrained.

In the garden of Gethsemane, even as Jesus, through prayer, battled his greatest temptation, a small group of disciples lay near and slept.  “Keep alert and pray,” he said unto them, “Otherwise temptation will overpower you.  For through the spirit is willing enough, the body is weak” (Matt. 26:41).  Get the implications of this:

Temptation waits by the door.
Lack of spiritual awareness is deadly.
Sensitivity to the subtleties of spiritual battle quickens the flesh.
Prayer equips a Christian for future warfare.
Without prayer, temptation wins.
Prayer shores up a Christian’s spiritual strength.

The implication is that a right response to the Savior’s warning could have protected Peter from the yet to come trial of denial.

Earnest Prayer and the Active Church Body.

Much later, while this same Peter laid sleeping in prison between two soldiers, “…prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him,” (Acts 12:5).  In time, after punching this sleeping man in the side to awaken him, an angel of the Lord leads Peter into freedom.  Scripture says that Peter thought he was having a vision and that he wasn’t even fully awake until after he had exited from the prison.

Ponder this issue.  What is the difference between a sleep of confidence and a sleep of resolve?  Some would say that Peter was resting in confidence, but perhaps he had merely resolved to accept whatever may come.  I have been there before.  It is a form of surrender.  We decide that our circumstances reflect God’s will.  We cease to struggle, for struggle is difficult while acceptance is easy.  But confidence prays.  Confidence fasts. Confidence waits on God with awareness, still in flesh but powered in spirit.  Surrender lies down, thinks little of anything, and merely hopes that something works out.

Take care that your prayer life is not complacent.
Earnest prayer changes events.
Christian prayers can aid even the lazy.
Wake up, pray, and be expectant of deliverance from your adversity.

Fine Points of Prayer as Taught by Jesus.

The Psalms are filled with prayers.  The prophets spoke long with God, clearly defining their feelings and their needs and their frustrations.  Godly men have always known His voice.  But we will let the words of Jesus close this study.  Look into Matthew 6:5-15.

Prayer is personal, not show.
Prayer is exact, not babble.
Prayer is thoughtful, heartfelt, and sincere, not rash and explosive.
Prayer involves forgiveness, not condemnation.
Prayer praises God, even as we sometimes weep.
Prayer seeks fulfillment of God’s heavenly plans, not personal agendas.
Prayer expresses dependence, not demands.
Prayer strengthens and delivers from temptation.

A Turn in My Life: On Reading Paulo Coelho

I have been an ardent reader all my life and books have always been my most worthy companions. But there are times that a single line from a book that I am reading strikes me so powerfully that even if I don’t read another page, my life would have changed forever. One such line was from Paulo Coelho’s ‘The Alchemist’, and it did change my life quite remarkably.

Arrogance comes in many forms. Christians are not immune to the pride of life or to the egotistical nature of the beast. If not careful, we talk down to the unsaved. Hi,

Thank you for reading my articles and stories. My goal is to glorify God, lift up the name of Jesus, and to provide quality-reading material.

My mind does not go straight to race when I think about my culture. I automatically think about being from “the South”. A place where women are expected act like ladies/the typical southern belle. My mind then jumps to my religion and then straight to my denomination, “Southern Baptist” (now that I am older, I just claim Christian instead of Southern Baptist). Honestly, when I think about my culture, I have mixed feelings. I am proud to be from the south however, I am not so proud of our racist past and/or present. Growing up in a Southern Baptist church, I was taught that you did not date black people because, “God said so”. When I was faced with the dilemma in my teens, I told the guy I would not date him “because God said so” and he laughed in my face. Until then, I had no reason to question everything I had been taught. I began a journey for the truth and I learned that there were three common answers among the many trust worthy adults (from five different Baptist churches). There was: A – Yes, but I do not know where it is at, B – No, it’s not, and C – I don’t know. Finally, I found the answer I was looking for from Brother Shane Duke. Brother Shane knew the Bible from cover to cover, and he was someone that I could trust. I keep bringing up the issue of trust because I would have been looked down upon in my town if everyone knew I was trying to date a “black guy”. I questioned Brother Shane after a youth night at a neighboring church. His answer? Numbers Chapter 12. It told about how Miriam and Aaron picked on their brother, Moses, for having an Ethiopian wife. Eventually, God punishes Miriam with leprosy to set an example. I felt triumphant, but then he followed it with, “Honor thy Mother and Father”, and I was immediately knocked off of my high horse. It is amazing how every aspect of someone’s culture shapes who they are as a person.
“It is rare that any two classroom teachers or education scholars have the same definition for multicultural education.”(Gorski, 1995-2008). The teacher’s own culture is going to influence how they perceive and teach the subject of multicultural education. Therefore, a teacher must be knowledgeable of many cultures other than their own. How are you supposed to teach something that you are ignorant of? A high-quality multicultural education curriculum should be accurate and complete. Also, the lesson should be sure to include a wide variety of cultures.
“Every student must have an equal opportunity to achieve to her or his full potential” (Gorski, 1995-2008), and as a teacher I have a responsibility to help that student attain that goal. To help them I must understand how my biases, opinions, and prejudices affect the quality of education I give to each student. I also have to make the effort to eliminate the biases, opinions, and prejudices that will occur in my classroom and my everyday life. Multicultural education has become a necessity in our society because of the vast array of cultures that now call the United States home. So, we must attempt to prepare our students for the ever-changing, progressively integrated society of America. I would hate to think that a student created a bias against a certain group of people because of events that I allowed in my classroom. Now, a teacher cannot prevent biases from being formed in the student’s home, but a teacher can prevent biases from forming in a classroom.
A major belief that I have is that all students should have a positive learning environment. A way to make a student feel positive is to make them feel important. That is why the individual cultural experiences of each student are important to everyone in the classroom. The student who is sharing their story feels important and the other students listening feel closer to that classmate. Of course, I will have to also share my cultural experiences with my students. Student-centered pedagogy makes learning more personal and I believe that learning comes alive when the students have a personal connection with the lesson. Hopefully, my students will learn just how multicultural the world around them is.
Please no negative comments if you disagree w/ what I wrote. I would just like another brain to help me see if it flows well. Thanks!

Why don’t Christians fundies just admit that they are not mad about President Obama not publically recognizing the National Day of Prayer? They are upset because he is pro secular and refuses to be their mouth piece in the White House. The only way you would have been happy today is if he had lead a strictly Christian prayer and had Christian only speakers at the White House. Why don’t Christian fundies admit that they are upset because their days of tyranny are coming to an end? Note this post is just for the Christian fundamentalist out there. My thanks and admiration goes out to all the open minded Christians.
All right people get your panties out of a bunch. I see nothing wrong w/ a national day of prayer. However Christianity is not the only religion in this country. I think that if it’s going to be recognized by the government then speakers from all faiths should be invited to the White House to Speak and Pray. Not just the Christians. President Obama should not be critized because he chooses to pray in private.
Can any fundies honestly tell me that if President Obama prayed to any deity other than the Christian one they would not be upset? Remember lying is a sin in your religion.

Christians are blessed with Prophecy through Dreams.

Written by Joseph Ho, 19th, June 2010.

Many non believers think that being a Christian has extreme handicaps. That is a lie and an unfounded truth. Being a Christian we get prophetic dreams from God and these dreams bring us good news and warnings. God said he will tell his servants what is to come. In this article, I will share with you the numerous dreams which God had given to me and their direct application in my daily life. Yes, these dreams guided my actions in my normal daily life and they are not only comforting, these dreams brought me peace that what I am deciding and doing is in line with what God has shown me. Whatever I saw in my dreams, I did exactly what God has already decreed. Some dreams are just information about my future and so I don’t need to do anything but to accept His sovereign will but for other dreams which require my personal decisions and actions I will always choose to be on the side of God and his will.

Joel 2:28 “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.

Amos 3:7 Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.

Daniel 1:17 To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.

Daniel 2:28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you lay on your bed are these:

Daniel 2:29 “As you were lying there, O king, your mind turned to things to come, and the revealer of mysteries showed you what is going to happen.

John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

Jeremiah 23:32 Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” declares the LORD. “They tell them and lead my people astray with their reckless lies, yet I did not send or appoint them. They do not benefit these people in the least,” declares the LORD.

Only God can reveal the future to his people, because he is a revealer of mysteries. Diviners and sorcerers do not know the meaning of dreams which God has given to his people. Only those people who have been given the gift of dream interpretations will know how; because the revealer of the meaning of dreams come from the Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of Truth and it will reveal the truth in the dreams. Dream interpreters are appointed by God otherwise these false interpreters will tell reckless lies.

Daniel 4:7 When the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners came, I told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for me.

Daniel 5:11 There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods.

Micah 3:7 The seers will be ashamed and the diviners disgraced. They will all cover their faces because there is no answer from God.”

Zechariah 10:2 The idols speak deceit, diviners see visions that lie; they tell dreams that are false, they give comfort in vain. Therefore the people wander like sheep oppressed for lack of a shepherd.

Dream of Financial Blessings

One night I had a dream, I dreamt that I was putting money into the banks quick deposit box. I put checks and dollar bills in them. This was a strange dream as usual we would put check into a quick deposit box but never dollar bills. Then the days which follows, people gave unto me $50 dollar bills and checks worth $2000. The dream came as and when it chooses and I had no control over what came to me in my sleep at night.

Dream of God’s Verdict

Another time, I had a dream , I dreamt that my natural father, brother and I were having a meeting and in that meeting my father and I were scolding my brother over certain matters which he had done wrong. The next day, my boss called me over the phone and said to me that he wanted to fire my General Manager, who happens to be my Christian brother in Christ. In that meeting, my boss told him he was to be fired. After that meeting, my boss told me that he had to be fair to me. I was the Head of Operations at that time in that company, this happened the next day after I had the dream.

Dream of Spiritual Blessings

In my dream, I saw 3 buckets of water, one small, one medium and one large. I saw a tap which was filling up the largest of the 3 buckets and it was overflowing with water. Since this dream, I had read the bible and spiritual books for at least 3 years and my mind was overflowing with scriptures and many of my friends were disgusted at my speech as its always about what the bible says.

Dream of Future Events

I had another dream along time ago; this time was about my father. In the dream, I saw him at a bus station and suddenly he went into a convulsion, he flipped backwards and was rocking on the ground with his middle section having extreme pain at his stomach section. Then he stood up and was alright except I knew there was something missing. One month later, he was found to have stomach cancer and had his stomach removed, but he was alright and lived another 10 years later. So when my father was found to have cancer of the stomach I was very relieved that although something was missing, he would be alive and well. This brought me peace and allowed me to proceed on my personal plan without worrying for him.

Dream of God’s Warning

In another dream, I dreamt that my car brakes were not working and I had collided with another car in front of me when I stopped my car at an intersection. Immediately in the morning, I went to check my brakes and the mechanic told me that my brake discs were worn out and had to be replaced. This was a good warning as I had already intended to drive a long distance to see my customer during that period. God is so good to warn me my car brakes were worn out.

Dream of Ascending to the Heavens

I had the strangest dream sometime back about 7 years ago, I dreamt a pair of hands touched my face and my spirit left my body and I was ascending to the heavens at such a great speed that I almost disintegrate into pieces, my heart felt it had just leaped forward at maximum light speed. Then I heard angels saying bring him up with us. I pleaded with the one who sent me up and said please stop for a while, then my spirit returned slowly for a while. A few seconds later, the pair of hands touched my face again and I went up once again into the heavens and this time I was accustomed to the speed and I did not complained. Then the journey ended naturally and I returned back to my body and my room which was filled with light became dark again. Now my life is on the other leg of this ascension, the first was an instant rise to success then followed by a period of rest which I had experienced in my life without a job for 2 years, and now I have returned back to work again.

Dream of Work Situation in the Company

A few years ago, I had a dream of my Boss, the CEO that he was all alone his factory with all the metal cupboards surrounding him. He was alone in darkness with his table and chair and the entire factory was in darkness, no one was with him. A few days later, the Managing Director, General Manager, and Engineering Director all resigned and he was left alone to manage the company. At that time, I did not know this was happening so I told him this dream and he was very surprised to hear what I was saying. God had shown me the present state of the company which I worked in.

Dream of God’s Judgment

Most recently I dreamt that the mountain of rocks came crashing down on the earth and it was an avalanche of huge rocks. Our little Christian business group was at the hotel resort in the mountains with a large church group. Suddenly without warning the rocks were coming down on us. Fortunately, a solid wall which must have been a few feet thick came from below the ground and shielded us from this avalanche. In the dream, I asked the manager when this wall was designed and he told me 18 years ago. That would be in the year 1992. This rock is judgment upon the earth and Jesus is the rock, and it will come on his church first.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I am writing these things to share with you that only the chosen ones can have such prophetic dreams from God and they all mean something real and true. Not all dreams are prophetic in nature; some are from our soul which is not in agreement with our mind and spirit. So they manifest as dreams to warn us of this imbalance of body mind and spirit. These three things must always be in agreement before we can achieve anything meaningful; else it’s a bunch of incomplete assignments in our lives done without much conviction and zeal.

I write not to boast but to testify that God give me dreams to help me have a better life. He is my refuge and my strength forever more. God gave Abraham a dream, he gave Jacob a dream, he gave Joseph a dream, he gave Solomon a dream, and he gave Nebuchadnezzar a dream, he gave Abimelech a dream, he gave Joseph, Mary’s husband a dream. God gave his people dreams to tell them what is to come, and guided them through dangerous paths and brought them all into their destiny. In life, we will have our troubles but because Jesus Christ has conquered death, he can lead us to a peaceful life and get us out of our troubles, no matter what troubles you may be in. So it’s good to know that God gives us dreams to help us.

But what about those people who don’t seem to have any such dreams. What can they do?

James 4:2 You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God.

Yes, God can give you this gift if you asked him to guide you through your dreams. Pray and asked him to give you the Holy Spirit which comforts us. But when he give you those dreams, please do not be like stubborn mules, obey his warning and his decree then you shall be prosperous and successful in whatever you do. I was given such dreams because I had asked God to speak to me in dreams and he did. When God speaks to you in dreams, it shall be very clear and vivid and it’s very simple and short.

1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has rejected you as king.”

When dreams come and you don’t obey and follow its guidance, they will start to fade away and will not come again. When God speaks and you don’t listen and obey, he will stop speaking and your days will be like iron and bronze. Should you have a dream and wants an interpretation, just write me an email and I will have it interpreted within days and I am giving it away free of charge. Now if you want to know more about the benefits of being a real Christian come to my website at Kingscepter.com or send me an email at prophet3333@yahoo.com. God bless you all.

The Greatest Of Gifts

One of the greatest gifts God has given every one of us has been music – for all places and purposes. The imagination and ingenuity to create different styles of sound, with a variety of instruments, using air from our lungs, lips and larynx, the striking of our hands and feet, as well as our fingers to strum, stroke or pluck strings or drum heads. Equipped with this special gift, God has created in our mind a multitude of sounds, tempo and lyrics to enrich our musical creation and enjoyment.

Time to Face the Truth – Do you know your God?

Many church goers do not know their God, and I mean they have no relationship with God. They prefer to read the bible, go to church and meeting people and converse in religious language but inside they are dry as the dead bones in the Book of Ezekiel. Reading the bible can never replace experiencing God in our lives.

The Delusion of the thirty, sixty and hundred fold for monetary returns – twisting the Word of God

Traditionally when the church needed money, many will pray and asked God for their provision and that was it. The spirit of God would move the chosen people to give and the church would have just enough to do the work for God. Nowadays, Pastor would quote scripture to tell his congregation that Matthew and Mark speaks of giving to God and receiving the thirty, sixty and hundred fold returns if they gave unto God. Essentially, the Seed refers to the Word of God and nothing else.

What is the difference between receiving something by faith and by assumption?

They frequently say the road to hell is paved with many good intentions. This is very true. I have only recently begun to accept the fact that Christians can be sincerely wrong. Their sincerity has nothing to do with the truth of a matter. I can prophesy peace comfort and prosperity on a person but that will not cause a person to have peace, comfort and wealth as long as it is not ordained by God. True faith is not presumption, its based on real promises which can only be given from God.

The Problem With Reading the Bible Using Our Human Understanding – dead letters

Many new Christians or immature sheep don’t understand that the bible can not be read with a logical human mind. Don’t get me wrong, we need to have a clear and healthy mind to read the bible of course, but to use the word within, we can not use our human logic. The bible is very simple and children can understand it yet it is as deep as the deepest ocean as no wise man can read it with sufficient human understanding. Paul said the letter kills but the Spirit giveth life

Why are Christians still unhappy even after they have been saved?

Why are Christians still unhappy even after they have seen saved? Written by Joseph Ho, June 3rd 2010. Most of the time Christians remain unhappy even after receiving Christ Jesus and having the gift of salvation from eternal damnation and fires of hell. Now, why is this the case? I have seen many Christians who are unhappy. How can true Christians be unhappy? Those who are unhappy do not understand the meaning of being a Christian.
