Obviously this question doesn’t apply if you are Christian, though please feel free to contribute if you want to.

I’m an atheist and sometimes it annoys me when I read the newspaper or see on TV an article about I don’t know, a child murder for example. And in the report it says “Jane Doe, who was a strict Catholic and attended church every week with her family…” I feel like shouting at the screen “SO WHAT??? Does that mean her life is worth more than mine? Just because of her religion?” it saddens me because although I may not believe in a God, I live my life being the best person I can be and value my life to be equal to that of a Christian.
Another example would be the Columbine Massacre, where 12 students and a teacher were shot dead by 2 fellow pupils. There was huge media attention surrounding the incident and I’m sure anyone who remembers the event or has read/learned about it will have heard the stories of Rachel Scott, Cassie Bernall and Daniel Rohrbough, three devoutly Christian students who were murdered in the massacre. But can anyone remember the names of the other people who died? I asked my family and friends and they couldn’t remember the names of any of the other children, probably because they hadn’t had anywhere near as much media attention.
