Christian Church service help?

Hello everyone, i am a christian myself and for our christmas church service i’ve been asked to preach. This is my first time speaking and i’m extremely nervous about what to say. There are several speakers and i’ve to talk about the actual birth of jesus and the significance of how unexpected it was that the king of kings was born in a dirty old barn, also how humble he was. This is troubling me, any suggestions or links would greatly be appreciated.

I’m 15 and I’m a freshman in high school. I have a 3.81 GPA, and I have a full honors schedule. I tend to get sick a lot, so I take more days off in a year than most kids, but I quickly make up the work. It is hard work every time I miss a day from school, but I understand that. I’m a determined student who aspires to do well. Here is my predicament: I want to stay home tomorrow to watch the inauguration but my mom, with good reason, is against it.

I don’t like missing school, but I believe tomorrow is an appropriate day to take off. I am VERY into politics, and have followed this election since 2006. Even though I have conservative views and never really cared for Obama, he is still going to be sworn in as the leader of the free world tomorrow; a very historic moment that will never be forgotten. It would mean a lot to me to see him be sworn in live on TV. Now yes, I know I COULD record it, but it’s not the same. It’s kinda like recording the ball drop on new years and watching it the next day. Who wants to see it after it’s happened? There’s something magical about watching an event like that in real time.

My mom is very Christian, as am I, but I swear she thinks Obama is the anti-Christ. She hates him and doesn’t trust him. She’s usually cool with things like this, but she won’t let me stay home and she won’t budge on this one.

I really want to see this historic event, but my mom disagrees with me that it is important. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

Essay the consumes
1. extracurricular activities
2. educational or professional goals
3. Jobs you have held
4. Community or school service
5. Your leadership roles in school
6. Special home or family situations

My goals and life plans have always inspired me to do my best. From increasing my academic’s grades to experiencing and learning new things, I continue to push myself further so that I can always grow as a person. In high school, my primary goals included getting into college. Now that graduation is on the horizon, my professional goal is to design clothing.
I remember watching a fashion runway show on television for a full three hours. I was so inspired by the beautifully crafted fashions, that I grabbed a pad of paper and started sketching on the spot! It was at that very moment that I realized my passion for crafting fashions, and even though I could not fully express it at the time, I knew that my destiny was to become a successful clothing designer.
During my junior year, I participated in a career preparation program at the non-profit Center for Arts Education. As a participant, I had the opportunity to intern at Bloomingdale’s in the Window Display department. As an intern, I gain experience displaying the spring lines of a variety of designers such as Ralph Lauren, Elie Tahari, Gucci and others. In addition, I worked with Bloomingdale’s window display’s costume designer for the renounced annual Christmas window event. My favorite part of my internship was apprenticing with a costume designer while he created an amazing coutier gown. I was honored to have him trust my design sensibility in allowing me to provide the accessories to complete his design. I was humbled by the immense time and effort that went into creating windows design or designing the holiday windows.
In the Spring, I volunteered to be a teacher in the ” Puerta de Paz” Evangelist Christian Church. I am currently teaching young children the word of God once every two weeks. This community service has taught me to take leadership and responsibility towards the lessons to be taught and to control the children. I have also volunteer for the health fair in my school this December. I was in charge of the health food section, serving abundance of students healthy beverages and foods. It was my responsibility to show them how to replace certain meals to benefit your body and health. After school, I participate in the Art, Photography and Christian club. I have experienced many exciting events and have learn many captivating information during each club I have participated in.
My mother is currently unemployed and now we are depended on Unemployment Benefit. We are also have been depended on the support of welfare and food stamps. My parents are divorced and my father does not support the family financially. For college, I am fully depended on financial aid, scholarships and loans because my mother has no method to pay the cost for college.
My long term goals and dreams have been my motivation since I can remember . I have been pushing myself and working my hardest to learn the art of making beautiful clothing for women who not only want to look beautiful but feel beautiful as well. That to me is important as a Fashion Designer, to have that ability like no other career out there. However, I know that it takes knowledge and experience from a successful fashion industry to realize my dream. That is why this scholarship is very important to me, it is not only the help I financially need but it will be the start of what I know in my heart I was meant to do.

i have to do this project but i don’t understand what it means. IM NOT ASKING YOU TO DO IT FOR ME, please don’t get that idea, i just need someone to explain it in better terms. this is what it says:

The purpose of the project is to understand the function of the novel, Things Fall Apart, as a proverb to clarify and explain the historical events of European colonization of Africa at the end of the 19th century. The objective of this project is to define proverb and to perceive the novel as an example of such. In addition, the student will gain knowledge in the efforts of Europeans to establish Africa as a dependent, Christian colony and will understand the novel as documentation of and insight to the effects of these efforts on African culture and beliefs.

now im supposed to explain how all of that effected the Igbo tribe, but how am i supposed to write about how it effected the tribe when i don’t even know what “IT” is! someone help?

College Help, Please. :)?

Hello there.
I am currently a first-semester senior at a small magnet school in the South. Perhaps someone could give me some insight as to how competitive I am regarding scholarship money within the TN State school system (i.e. UTK, MTSU, TTU, etc.), as well as competitiveness for other, more prestigious schools (such as Vanderbilt, Harvard, etc.) Here are a few ‘stats:’

ACT (30) (29)
English (35) (35)
Math (25) (26)
Reading (32) (26)
Science (28) (30)

SAT (1980)
M (540)
V (690)
W (750)

I am, without a doubt, retaking both of these tests in the near future, in hopes that I will score better.

What do you think?
I am certainly extremely confused about college right now – it basically has taken up the entire capacity of my brain for the past few months, and it likely will do the same until May 1, when at last a decision is made.

Any help would be appreciated!
